Chayouhouqi is well known as the hometown of calcium carbide for it is abundant in limestone. There are about 200 million cubic meters of limestone in our region; the average assay of calcium oxide is 54%. This limestone is the best material of calcium carbide for its huge reserves & excellent quality; meanwhile, it is very easy to mine.

Inner Mongolia Baiyanhu Chemical Co., Ltd. is located at Baiyinchagan town in Chayouhouqi. The Jining-Erlian railway, national highway 208 and expressway 208 pass our gate; Human province highway is only 5km away from our company, thus we enjoy good location. Meanwhile, the power industry in Inner Mongolia has experienced great development, therefore we enjoy excellent power guarantee.

Taking the advantages of our resources and good developing conditions, Baiyanhu was founded in July, 1900. At that time, Baiyanhu was a small factory, with one 5,000KVA of calcium carbide furnace and the annual output of 10,000 tons. Over years' hard work, Baiyanhu has become a large-scale enterprise, with 2 sets of 6,300KVA of calcium carbide furnaces, 5 sets of 12,500KVA of calcium carbide furnaces, 1 set of 16, 500KVA of calcium carbide furnace, 3 sets of 20,000KVA of calcium carbide furnaces and the annual outputs of 350,000 tons of calcium carbide and 150,000 tons of cement. Now, Baiyanhu ranks No.1 position in this industry of China; we have 2,000 employees (276 of them are technicians and engineers), RMB 415 million of total capitals and RMB 229.6 million of net assets.

Baiyanhu has experienced great development since 1995. From 1995 to 2005, we produced 790,000 tons of calcium carbide, sold RMB 1.517 billion of products, got RMB 240 million of profit payments and tax turnover and paid RMB 150 million of taxes; moreover, we employed 1,500 surplus labor in the past 11 years. In 2004, we produce 110,000 tons of calcium carbide, sold RMB 358 million of products, got RMB 93.79 million of profit payments and tax turnover and paid RMB 48.22 million of taxes; we became one of top-100 taxpayers in our municipality (83rd in national tax, 61st in local tax); in 2005, we produce 190,000 tons of calcium carbide, sold RMB 367 million of products, got RMB 22.12 million of profit payments and tax turnover and paid RMB 26.29 million of taxes; the average salary was increased to RMB 10,000, while it was 3,000 Yuan in 1994.

Up to now, Baiyanhu has got a lot of honors from our local government and Chinese ministries. In 1997, we were approved as "Good management company", "Good management sample enterprise" by the government of our municipality; in 1999, we were approved as "Good management company" by the government of our municipality; we were approved as "Good management innovative enterprise" by the government of our municipality in 2002; in 2004, we were approved as "Modeling company" by the government of Wulanchabu city and "Good local taxpayer" by our local taxation bureau; in 2005, according to the income of our main business, we were assessed as 86th company in the top-100 enterprise of our municipality. The first group of our calcium carbide workshop was awarded as “The leading group of national 5.1 labor diploma". Moreover, our chairman Zhangyu was approved as "good entrepreneur" of municipality in 1998; he was approved as “Excellent manager" in our municipality in 1999 and "labor hero" in 2000. In 2005, he was awarded as "Good constructor for the development of Chinese socialism" and "excellent enterpriser” of our municipality. He got the "national 5.1 labor medal" in 2006.

In past 11 years, our products have been well sold in over 20 large-scale chemical enterprises; customers are highly satisfied with our products. Relying on our excellent investment condition and taking the advantages of our company on resource, transportation, position, brand, reputation and technology, and basing on our peculiar company culture, we are working hard to develop new downstream products and expand our industrial chain. Now, we are making preparation for the projects of 120,000T/A of PVC and 100,000T/A of caustic soda, which have been recorded as the files of our municipality (No.: [2006]705#). Meanwhile, we compile the "Developing plan of Circular Economy" to save the resource, make clean production, reuse the waste materials and promote our industrial level, this plan have been reported to the development and reform committee of our municipality. At the same time, according to the Chinese admittance requirements to calcium carbide industry, we will build 5 sets of enclosed, electro-dedust and national-leading 250,00KVA and above of calcium carbide equipment in the next 3 to 5 years.
